The Board of Education is recognizing each band student individually for their contribution to our success at OMEA State Marching Band Finals! Each student’s name will be announced and certificates will be presented! Come and celebrate our success!!!

THINKING AHEAD: Friday, March 13 and Saturday, March 14 we host the Ohio Music Education Association Large Group Adjudicated event and EVERY FAMILY IS REQUIRED TO VOLUNTEER!!
At this event, we welcome bands from across Northwest Ohio to receive adjudication on their performance! This is the pinnacle event of our concert band season!
There are a variety of opportunities and timeframes for everyone to be able to help!
STUDENTS PERFORM AND VOLUNTEER AT THIS EVENT! Students will have a separate sign up in class!
Sign up will be available as the event approraches.
DISNEY INFORMATION
Disney Extra Travel Permission Form
Families have the option of extending your student’s Florida trip by having them travel down with you to Disney, or home from Disney. If this is part of your spring break plan, please complete and submit the “Disney Extra Travel Permission Form” linked below! Due Friday, December 19!

All students performing in the Disney Parade at Magic Kingdom are required to participate!

Tuesday, March 17, 6:00pm Stadium Performance for Families!
Tuesday, March 17, 6:30pm Departure Meeting (Traveling student and at least 1 parent/guardian must be in attendance!)
Pep Band:
The Southview pep band performs at winter sporting events (boys and girls basketball games). All band members are required to perform at least three pep band events. Attendance at pep band games will be included as a performance grade for Quarter 3.
Uniform is our official grey Southview Band t-shirt!

Solo & Ensemble Information
Solo and Ensemble is an outstanding performance opportunity sponsored by the Ohio Music Education Association each winter. We strongly encourage all students to consider participating!!
Students may participate in performing a solo (individual performance) or ensemble (3-12 students).
Date: Saturday, January 24, 2026
Location: Northview High School
Solo Fee: $21/solo
Ensemble Fee: $26/ensemble
All solos with piano accompaniment will need to be performed with a piano accompanist!
An accompanist will be $30 per solo.
